Hello everyone!

I wanted to send out some information regarding the Girls BC Summer Games Soccer Team for 2022.

My name is Cara Brawdy and I am excited to be the head coach for the team this year!

Our zone (7) covers from Vanderhoof to Prince Rupert and any players born in 2007/2008 in this region are eligible to try out. The age guidelines are very strict and we cannot make any exceptions.

Here are the details we have so far:

There will be tryouts held and a team with a roster of 18 players chosen to compete.

Tryouts will take place on Sunday, May 15th in Smithers, BC.

There will be sessions at 10:00am-12:00pm and 2:30pm-4:00pm.

Players are asked to arrive 20 mins prior to the session start time to confirm registration, get dressed and warm up.

All players must bring their own water, wear shin pads and appropriate training gear.

Players must respond and confirm registration for tryouts. There will be a $5.00 registration fee for tryouts to cover the cost of fields.

After tryouts, a practice schedule and location will be decided based on where the majority of the team is located. They will take place on weekends (probably every second week) and will include 2-4 sessions per weekend. Dates and times will be worked out after the team roster has been determined.

Our zone covers a large area and we have a short time to practice so it is important that players can commit to training sessions.

There is a $175.00 registration fee for each player for the BC Games. This DOES NOT include additional fees such as uniforms, equipment, travel etc. There may also be additional training fees to cover field bookings.

The games take place JULY 21st-24th in Prince George BC.

The travel details will be worked out in coordination with the zone representative and the boys team according to the BC Soccer guidelines for the games. All participants are required to stay at the designated BC Games accommodations, more details on this to come. Food for athletes is included.

Players must be registered with a BC Soccer Youth District. All players participating in the games must have Covid-19 vaccines.

There will be more information coming as we work out the details. If your athlete is interested in hearing more about the games and potentially competing, please let me know and I will make sure your contact information is added to the list. Feel free to pass this information along to anyone you think may be interested.

The BC Games are a great experience for any athlete and I am excited to be a part of it this year!

Please reach out if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Cara Brawdy
