U12- U18 - Active for Life OR Development/ Competitive Program

By BVSS Board, 02/28/22, 9:00AM PST

Reasons for making this change.

Bulkley Valley Youth Soccer is growing and expanding to provide players with more development opportunities. As a result, we have changed our U1-U18 soccer programming to meet the needs of all players.

NEW THIS YEAR U12 to U18 – Join Active for Life/ Recreational OR Development / Competitive Program in Smithers/Telkwa

BVSS is proud of our strong house program with a focus on fun, fitness, friends, and physical literacy in a developmentally appropriate environment.  This program is open to youth of all skill levels with players placed on mixed gender teams.

The Development programs provide an opportunity for players who want to participate in a higher level of training, competition, and commitment level.  Players are placed on gender specific teams.

This year BVSS is expanding the development program and allowing players to choose which program they wish to participate in.  In our community, with many different programs and activities available, we understand that not all players will be able to devote the time required for the development program but will enjoy the house program playing competitively for a shorter time frame.

Our program chart outlines the details on the differences between the programs.

This program will be similar to house league in previous years. Unfortunately, for Smithers and Telkwa we are unable to offer separate girls/boys teams in house this season in order to be part of league play with Houston and Hazelton.

NOTE TO DEVELOPMENT PARENTS: We would love to be able to provide parents with set practice times for the development program but are unable to due to us needing to know the number of players registered at the different age groups so we can accurately form teams.  As we have limited field space the plan is to hopefully align with house practice times and offer additional practice times for those players registered for development.  Being a small community, our coaches are aware of other sports activities and will try to plan accordingly.  Any questions regarding this please reach out to our Development Coordinator and we will do our best to answer any questions.
